WE’RE HIRING INSTRUCTIONAL COACHES FOR ALL GRADE LEVELS, CONTENT AREAS & SPECIALIZATIONS.  NO PRIOR COACHING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

Purpose: Ribbit Instructional Coaches (RICs) combine their own content knowledge, instructional expertise and experience along with the tools, resources and supports provided by Ribbit to inspire and empower educators to grow professionally. RICs will work as a virtual colleague with educators from around the country to support their professional growth, improve their practice and increase student learning outcomes. In order to meet this purpose, RICs will provide personalized, 1:1 support based on the goals and identified needs of the individual educators they coach.

Guiding Principles:

  • Every educator deserves an instructional coach.
  • Educators shouldn’t have to leave the classroom to provide coaching support to other educators.
  • All educators can benefit from instructional coaching, regardless of tenure, assignment or geographic location.
  • All educators can grow with a combination of resources, tools, guidance and support that are aligned to their specific needs and priorities.
  • Teaching and learning are complex, multi-faceted, interdependent processes that promote lifelong academic, emotional, social, and professional success for adults and children.
  • RICs are collaborative partners who provide support and resources to educators facilitating the ongoing development of strategies, structures, and resources that improve student learning and professional growth.
  • Reflective practice and dialogue among coaches and educators are essential to build trusting relationships that foster empathy and collegial communities of learners.
  • Continuous professional learning for RICs is foundational to maintaining and deepening knowledge of new curriculum standards, evolving learning outcomes, coaching strategies, and the most effective instructional methods for teaching diverse learners and assessing student learning.

Roles & Responsibilities, include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Motivate, inspire and empower educators to grow professionally
  • Provide encouragement and emotional support to assigned educators
  • Encourage ongoing professional growth for assigned educators
  • Develop and maintain a trusting and reflective professional partnership with assigned educators
  • Coach and assist assigned educators throughout their goal setting, planning and implementation process
  • Provide virtual support to assigned educators, including sharing resources, evaluating evidence/data, supporting self-reflection, and providing feedback
  • Monitor Ribbit platform for coaching requests and meeting invitations, and engage with educators in a timely manner
  • Manage time and schedule flexibility to maximize educators’ schedules and learning
  • Participate in all required RIC professional development
  • Acquiring the knowledge, skills, technology skills, and instructional strategies to effectively impact the instructional practices of the educators you are coaching
  • Remain knowledgeable about current and past research in the specific content area and other pedagogies relevant to the Ribbit coaching model

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
  • Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience
  • Valid fingerprint clearance card
  • Growth mindset and eagerness to learn
  • Passion to inspire and empower colleagues and peers to grow and develop
  • Belief in and ability to coach and support others through continuous improvement
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner both orally and in writing
  • Strength in organization, communication skills and efficiency in meeting deadlines
  • Ability to function as a positive, collaborative member of a team
  • Deep knowledge of and experience in:
    • Instructional strategies
    • Conditions of Learning
    • Assessment driven instruction (teaching/learning process)
  • Ability to model quality Tier 1 instruction across content areas
  • Ability in working with diverse populations (ELL, Special Education, Gifted)
  • Ability to work with educators across a variety of settings (ELD, Special Education, Gifted, elementary level, middle school level, high school, or fine arts)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior instructional coaching experience
  • Current teaching license, if applicable in resident state
  • Advanced degree from an accredited college/university
  • Eight or more years teaching experience
  • National Board Certification

Position & Salary:

  • 1099 independent contractor
  • May coach educators in multiple time zones
  • Coaching Range: $40-$60/hour
  • Additional compensation for preparation and documentation time
  • Contractors are expected to use their own technology to access the Learning Hub to deliver services to educators
